4. How To Stand Up On A Paddle Board
First things first, standing up on a paddleboard can be quite tricky at first! However, most people learn how to do this in as little as 15 minutes. An important tip to remember is to seek out a body of water with no current, waves or wind and that is a suitable depth as you do not want to hit the bottom if you fall in. With that being said, let’s get started.
To begin, attach your sup board leash and walk into the water and place your paddle on your board facing towards the nose. Following this, slowly place both of your knees on each side. Once you feel balanced, put your hands in front of your knees with one hand placed on the shaft of your Jobe sup paddle. While holding your paddle, one at a time begin to bring your feet up to replace where your knees were then slowly stand up from a squat position.
Once you feel comfortable and balanced, you can begin to straighten your back. Your feet should be shoulder width apart with your knees slightly bent. Finally, place the sup paddle in the water with the bent part facing forward. Now start paddling remembering that speed will increase stability!
