Dakine<\/a> was founded in 1979, born from a need to create hardwearing and durable surfing equipment. Founder Rob Kaplan, a keen surfer, set out to solve problems brought to him by his peers, such as how to create a surf leash which would survive even the roughest wipeout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
